There was a thread a couple months ago that talked about it.

I was part of a team that was successful with Kickstarter. We ran a 45 day campaign and put in the equivalent time of a full time job to raise the funds.

So I take it the 45 day full time job was worth it? Did you raise enough money to compensate you for your time and have production funds, or was it a wash?

Our campaign was for 15k which in no way covered our time, just our hard costs of production. No one was compensated.

This is what I posted in the earlier thread:

I worked on the one-hour “Real Meaning of Halloween” special for a local puppet show known as Transylvania TV that the producers funded with a Kickstarter page.

Fun show that actually got more than they asked for. One hint I can offer is to give people some sort of spiff for donating. Something associated with the show they can’t get any other place is good. We had the top donors come in to watch a day of production and gave out metric buttloads of little goodies to most of the other donors. Then all donors were credited and invited to the preview screenings.
