Quick question about Blackmagic if thats OK on here. I recently crossgraded to FCP v5.1 and then upgraded to v5.1.2 . The programme seems a bit flaky, crashing quite frequently so I posted a question here. As usual a very helpful response (thanks!)I was told to trash my preferences and to “zap the Pram”. Done all this but when I restarted FCP there was no sign of the Blackmagic presets. No surprise really.

OK, so I tried to re-install Blackmagic but during the installation process a warning came up that I was trying to install an older version of the programme than is already on the computer. So I abandoned that and re-installed the original prefs (courtesy of the little application FCP Rescue) and all is well.

How can this be? Has Blackmagic quietly uploaded a new version in the background? Can I go ahead and reload the original Blackmagic software with no ill effects?

[Scottish Editor] “Quick question about Blackmagic if thats OK on here.”

This particular question would probably be better answered in the Blackmagic forum here on the Cow.

Just run the uninstaller from the blackmagic installer.
