I am trying to figure this out…Going crazy. Please help if you could.

I have a 3.5 hour section of various music videos that I am trying to compile into one long AVI file. I have spent all week last week making the fades and replacing some audio file to make the sound quality better.

For some reason when I render the entire thing as an avi file the crossfades on some of the tracks do not work. The files seem to play until the very end without my crossfades that essentially make the video clip shorter and blend in with the next video.

In the beginning I had one video track and one audio track and I have been rendering and rendering and I am able to get it to fade the track transitions correctly if I use the render loop range a short section of just one of the transitions. When I render loop as an experiment from the beginning to say the 4th video the videos all seem to play till the very end of the file leaving my crossfades and transitions incorrect. I noticed the specific videos it does not fade is very consistent on the render of all of the 51 videos, it seems to only do it to a certain few videos but I am unsure why? I have zoomed way in and I cant seem to find anything different. I even moved each video and audio track so it alternates on completely different tracks and I have the identical problem. I will basically be working on this until it is fixed due to a deadline. Any reply s are greatly appreciated. PLEASE HELP..

Attached are screenshots of the first problematic fade…

Boy, sometimes these things happen Michael without being
sure why (i understand your frustration)…lol

Which version of Vegas are you using? and in the meantime, clean
up your system (i use CCleaner) and do a restart.

Thank you for the response. I am using Vegas Movie Studio platinum 11 build 220.

I have my PC tweaked and stripped for recording and I have also been simultaneously been experimenting with rendering on my powerful laptop with identical results…

Vegas seems to put a second of blank black space between some of my files. On preview it looks great. When I render just the transition inside the loop range it works well. When I render 3 or 4 songs it puts a blank space between the, In some of the transitions there is like 3 or 4 seconds of dead space between videos??? I have considered editing the rendered file to fade into itself again but it will take me forever… What would put time in between clips? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I think its a setting or something. I really cannot see what would be different for some of these clips…. Its like they play to the very end. Anybody know of any preference setting that would play each clip no matter what in its entirety? Is there a way to lock om fades? Its like longer on certain clips… In other spots the fades I have done work perfectly. I am so confused.

Went to render a new project today and I am once again having the same problem!

The Audio Waveform is incorrect, it shows the music ending and fading out to a flat 0db line way before the song is over.. When I render my video there are gaps and it is like the crossfades and edits are not taking… What the hell.

In Vegas it plays perfect but when I render it adds gaps. I put the rendered video and audio on a separate track and it is the exact same length. I wonder if I have the clips set to loop no destructively or something… Any ideas are Appreciated!!!!

Last time I had to re-do my edits on the final wave. It worked when it was one file??? Is there a way to lock the clips or something??? I have to be doing something wrong??? AHHH

THANKS GUYS, I find this Forum incredibly helpful!
