Cropping video
I am relatively new to FCP and need some help. Sometimes when I crop it works just fine – but other times not at all. I can’t figure out what I am doing differently. I select my clip in the timeline, open the motion tab and move the sliders. The values change but no “black bars” appear on the video in the canvas. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure that you’re actually opening your clip in the viewer? You need to double-click or hit enter when its selected. If you single click, you wont be modifying the correct clip.
