I have football footage of a big hit from my sons team. I cropped it to just the hit.(about 50% size) I would like to use this as an animated gif with as much clarity as possible, so if I resize it to fit the screen after cropping, I lose clarity, then making it into a small file for the web would make it look horrible (I think, but havent tried just creating it) Is there a way to keep the sharpness of the cropped area, but make the video take up the full screen of the gif area? Does this question make any sense to anyone?

Import the footage into a new project created at the same size you plan to use for the animated GIF.

Or, better yet, create an After Effects composition and export to the animated GIF fom there. Just remember there are fewer colors in a GIF.
