  cropping app and converting uncompressed

  Here’s my problem 🙂

  I have a .mp2 file wich has been wrong encoded into 4:3, it should be in 16:9. I have the file on a friends pc (im on macbook pro) in flaskmpeg it’s really easy to get rid of the black border around the actual image by cropping. Since i dont want to loose too much quality i make it in uncompressed video. I dont encode the aduio since i already have it.

  Then i get the file in uncompressed .avi, but when i load it into encore on my mac it says it cant open it because of the codec. Tried opening it in fcp with the same result.

  So my question is: is there any good program like flaskmpeg for mac, where you can open a .mp2 file and crop it and encode it without too much quality loss? Or a encoding program where i can encode the uncompressed .avi file into a video file so encore can read it? Since i can open it in vlc and see that even though the rough cropping- the picture is okay 🙂
