We got footage shot at 2048×1080 and want to output at 1920×1080 with top and bottom cropped ( no resizing ). I’m a little confused with all the different settings in resolve : input scalling, output scalling, project resolution, timeline resolution… any help ?

    best regards

Do you want to keep any of the 2048 intact during the grade, ie for resizing, pan/scan, stabilize, or other?

Will you be working with a 2048 timeline as a master or are you going to carry out the grade on a 1920×1080 project setting?

The final grade will be in 2048×1080 , but i need to deliver 1920×1080 cropped dailies for the editorial .

[jeremie galan] ” 1920×1080 cropped dailies for the editorial .”

So in effect really full frame 1920×1080 but filled vertically, allowing left and right to go off screen.
Try Project Settings: Output Scaling Preset/ Center crop with no resizing. That should keep the 1080 height and lop off the left and right…

Make sure you have the correct Delivery parameters specified, 1920×1080, etc., when you go to render. This may or may not affect any tracking or smoothing you might have in the project.
