Here’s something odd I keep getting slammed by… I have a credit roll on Boris. At random times, a flash frame of credits from some random spot further in the roll hits at the split second before the first words roll up from screen bottom. When I scrub through the timeline, the flash frame is not there! And at times when I’ve saved my project as a QT Movie, the flash frame is not there. But strangely enough, when I export to a mini DV deck, and especially when I burn a DVD, the flash frame is there! ??? I’ve gone back to the timeline, put a slug over the video up to the first frame of the roll, deleted any video up to the first frame of the roll, relaid the entire roll… sometimes the flash frame is gone, sometimes not. It’s not logical. I’m following up on some previous tips on Creative Cow, but could use any help to keep this from happening… even if I never know WHY it’s happening. Much thanks.

I have FCP HD on a Mac G5.

sounds like a corrupt render file… or a corrupt project, maybe corrupt media. if so, delete render files, trash prefs, redo a new project and paste in timeline— or export xml/edl which ever and relink media or rebatch if needed… either way, try to side step whatever you may think is causing the corruption.

The flash frame at the head of a Boris roll is a “known” issue. It’s a flash field field I believe. One of the workarounds is to do a one frame fade up at the head of the roll.

Thanks for the help. I’ll check it out and see what happens. It’s a very strange problem.

I thought I was the only one wrestling with this. I tried your suggestion. Seems to have worked. Thanks so much.
