I just got a job creating graphics for a documentary – I have to do ID tags for people as well as a title card. It has to look gritty and urban, preferably black and white…
I don’t know much of Photoshop beyond the basics. Does anyone have any tips or tricks about how to get this sort of effect in Photoshop? Advice in general? -

Textures – create your design and add a layer of texture such as a photo of concrete, chipped paint, scratched metal, etc., and change the layer’s blending mode to get the look you’re after.
