Trapcodes’s Sound Key Generates interesting visuals but I was wondering if there is a plug-in that can actually generate moving sound waves from audio?

I want a mouth to be speaking and to see the waveforms coming out of the mouth?

    Any suggestions>

    Thanks

Click on Aharon’s head (he’s the sneaky guy under the Lerp hat). Scroll to, “Creating an Oscillating Wave Form: Part 1 and Part 2”.

Or you might check out Render>Radio Waves. It defaults to a classic Radar Screen look, but if you crank up the Velocity to more than 200 you can get some nice directional cone effect. To have it react to the music you’d need to tie a parameter like frequency (or others to the Sound keys.

Also do not forget the Audio Wave and Audio Spectrum effects. They can even be attached to paths. For them to look “nice”, you will however need to adjust the audio file they are supposed to use.

If your shot is in perspective and you want the waves to have a 3d look, you can create a particle animation using dynamics in a 3d app, render it out as a greyscale animation and use it as a displacement map in AE.
