  • Creating rolling clouds

I am running to a brick wall with a project I am currently work on….

I need to create rolling clouds during a star lite night and the clouds need to be moving away from the camera has if a person is moving towards the camera.

I cannot seem to get the clouds I created to look right when moving backwards. They work fine left or right but not front or back.

I created some using Trapcode Particular and a custom cloud I made in Photoshop, and they look good, but don’t look good animated.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

It’s hard to imagine why they don’t look good animated. Can you be more descriptive? Do the clouds lack depth? Are they distributed along the Z-axis? Check your various orthographic 3D views (Top, Left, etc.) and check the Custom View as well if you want to confirm that they are, in fact, located where you need them to be.

Any reason why you can’t just buy a piece of stock footage and use that instead. Clouds aren’t easy to make look real. It’s much better to use real elements if you can.
