    Hello to all,

I’m working on a one minute film for my Cinema 101 Project. Two of my characters get beat up so I would like to have spinning or rotating dizzy stars/birds on their head like in the cartoons when people get knocked out. What is the best way to accomplish this in vegas? Would i need a plugin like Boris? thanks for your help.

No plugin or easy one click method for that, you can try creating
those stars and birds, in maybe photoshop and animate them yourself
    in Vegas.

    Thanks for a quick reply!
Assuming I found or made a star, what would be the method to get it rotating? i thought about making 3 stars in Photoshop and trying to rotate them on ellipses or something similar.

More an AfterFX thing I would have thought. Maybe someone could make a sequence for you. 🙂 Unless you have AFX of course.

Yes Phil, thats a straight forward After Effects task,
but the method i recommend is if one doesnt have it.

Blufftitler is a superb tool for doing exactly this and comes in way less than the cost of AFX. Have a look at https://www.outerspace-software.com.

I have no affiliation, other than being a satisfied customer.

Thanks! I’m going to look at both of the programs suggested here (after fx and bluff titler). i will try and report back if i succeed but the end of the semester is getting a bit hectic. Now i must add Creative COW in my special thanks slide lol.

Just for kicks, I tried it with the NewBlue Titler Pro that comes with Vegas Pro 11 and 12. I added a couple paragraph text blocks that consisted of “* *” and keyframed them to rotate in a 3D space. Played with the offsets between the text blocks, paragraphs in NewBlue, and it looked promising. I had the NewBlue title event just above the video I wanted the dizzy stars.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with recommending a software that
    gets the job done Stewart.

Particle Illusion is a Plugin to VP11 and also now in VP12. It has the ability to manipulate particles and you CAN utilise your own graphics elements.

Your request has inspired me to check the options on using pI to the point I’ve made a conference call-out to a long-standing graphic-artist friend of mine to invite him to being involved on the actual elements. Interesting . . .
