    Hello,

    I got a hole on the earth and basically I want to animate it, like spitting some liquid. Therefore, to create the effect of the soil opening and closing in order to simulate the idea of spitting, I need a better idea than using Bulge or animating a mask expansion. I need to preserve the texture and animate it like the soil is opening.

    Any idea?

    You could use the mesh warp effect.

    Free Form – better FreeForm Pro is the way to go- all you need is a great animated depth map. You could use animated shape layers to create one, combined with blurs and maybe Mesh Warp for a more organic look.
