I wanted to know if there was a way to make an action to live trace some photos with Illustrator CS4. For some reason I can make the action but it won’t let me Live Trace. It either pops up a dialog box with the live trace options in it or just doesn’t work. Anyone have experience with this?

rather than using an action from photoshop maybe take a look at bridge under tools. you can send a folder of p-shop pictures from bridge to illustrator trace. as i recall you need to have the trace illustrator settings and color pallette all saved in illustrator but bridge will automate the routine and save the illustrator traced files to a new folder. i’ve used this to trace/treat several hundred picts from a pict movie sequence. you can also do the same thing with photoshop files in bridge to automate photoshop actions on a folder of pictures.
