    Hey guys,

I have a super complex project that I could use some tips for. I’m a very visual learner, so here is a perfect example of what I want to build:

    https://www.loop-net.info/hud/fl.html

    The set up:

    – Using Cinema 4D, I want to create a camera that will be attached to my characters head in order to create a first person view. It will fly around the city at different altitudes and angles.

    – I then want to migrate the camera data into After Effects and add things like altitude, vector, positioning, etc. This is to create a futuristic HUD for an armored female superheroine from my book The Silver Ninja. https://www.thesilverninja.com

    The problem:

1.) I was thinking of using a mask and an offset to have the lines scroll on the screen. But like in the link I provided, I don’t want the lines to go over the vector. So I thought I’d use a mask, but if I do a mask then I’d need to pre comp the altitude lines. And if I pre-comp, then I might not be able to link the expressions to the camera positioning and data.

2.) How would I get the numbers to increase and decrease in value as the character changes altitude? I know a few basic expressions, but this seems a bit more complicated than that.

Here’s my very basic and crude attempt for 2006 or so.

(You can see that the “3D” city in the upper right moves a little bit, but again, it’s not quite what I wanted.)

Any starter tips would be a GREAT help for me.
