Creating a still frame: RAIN
I’m working on an animation short that will be made of still photos.
The thing is: there will be rain on the “scene” that has to be made in vfx. The Rain does not have to be animated, it will be still as the rest of the picture.. But I’d really need and like to have some ideas or hints about this.
It’s something I never faced before.
There will be (fake, made in a plastic) trees, an actor, and some objects in the frames, so how could I create a “pretty” effect to make some rain over the frame? If I’m been not clear at all feel free to scold me, sorry.

Not able to understand exactly want you want to create but I have created an example using CC Rain effect.
Apply CC Rain Effect to a Black Solid, Adjust parameters as required, Precomp Black Solid Layer moving all attributes to the comp. Now Context Click on Precomp, Go to Time> Freeze Frame. Now use Add Blending Mode,

In other words, I’ll have to do post-production on a lot of single frames, with the duty of “adding” rain into them. It should look the more realistic possible and that’s why I was asking here, my idea was indeed to use the CC_Rain effect, but I wonder if there are any other options out there..
Especially since I could have to do some rain drop actually in the moment it’s hitting something. Maybe with some photos composited into the frame?

You can use Trapcode Particular with to create Rain drops. Particular also has a great feature of producing Auxiliary Particles with which you can emit particles on hitting a wall or floor.

Film yourself urinating through a screen door. Shoot that against blue screen. Once keyed desaturate the pee pee so its white. Boom!!!! Rain. You can also make your urine white by drinking enough water.
