    Hi all,

I’m working on a little project explaining the doppler effect and I need a little help with one sequence.

Basically, one of my characters has the ability to teleport by playing the harmonica. There’s a few sequences where he plays the harmonica and the characters suddenly disappear, to appear somewhere else.

I’d like to add a nice quick transition, some kind of flash, to bridge the two frames (one with characters in it, one without). This will be accompanied by appropriate sound effects.

I’m open to suggestions of how to make this look convincing. At the moment I’m toying with having a bright solid layer with some fractal noise and ramping up the opacity in the second or two before the teleportation.

Does anyone have any better ideas of how a convincing effect could be achieved?
