  • Creating a shape layer

    Hi,
when I create a shape layer with the star shape layer tool and change the numbers of points or the roundness with the arrow buttons on the keyboard
the next time I use the star tool It creates by default the same values I used the previues shape I created.

Is there a way to set the default of the shape layer tool so that every time it will start from a simple star shape?
    Thanks!

Think that’s the default for AE. You could make an animation preset for the simple star shape and use that when you need it, but if you use the star shape tool again, it reverts to whatever you created last.

The other method would be to just twirl open the polystar properties and set the points there, then the star tool will always start with the same amount of points, course that’s a couple of extra clicks opening up the properties.

To make an animation preset is a great idea,
    That’s what I’ll do.

    Thank you very much!

Well, I finally found a simple solution,
Double clicking the shape tool button in the tool bar
will set to the default settings of the shape.
