  • Creating a jpeg out of video/still frame

I was trying to figure this out, and I’m almost positive I’ve done it before, but how can I create a jpeg from my video? I needed it right away and I couldn’t play around with FCP at the time, so I just “print screen”ed and cropped what I needed. I’d imagine there’s a way to do it directly in FCP. I just want to extract a frame and make it a jpeg to use in other programs. Thanks!

There are many choices for various purposes. But the first few steps would be the same:

Step 1: File> Export> Using QuickTime Conversion… “Save” window appears
    Step 2: Format> Still Image
Step 3: Options… > Format: (choose PNG, PICT or Photoshop) > OK
Step 4: Name your image, Set location (disk, folder, desktop) for your new still. > Save

After you have your new image you can manipulate it in Photoshop (et.al.) for best looking print.
