Hi Guys, here is what I would like to do. I bet it is not that simple ^_^

I am currently in Post for my Film, it is a 40 minute film, shot on Canon 7D full HD 1980, 24 p yada-yada

I am editing with Premiere Pro CS4 and my QUESTION is!

I would like to export this film so that anybody can download the full HD movie file off of my website.

What are the export settings so that YOU can download my film off of my website AND are they different for MAC, should I export different for MAC? and lastly, bonus question, should I make a different export for mobile users~?

Good Times Gents, your feedback is much appreciated~

h264 is a good choice for wide compatibility. Will work on macs, pcs, and most smartphones. I’d suggest making a smaller mobile version but decreasing the resolution and bit rate.

Hi Thanks for the response but umm..yeah I am afraid that answers an upload question. If a person wants to DOWNLOAD and watch your movie on their PC (not online or on youtube) H264 is not the right codec.

I think I read online that AVI would be good but those files are Monstrous.

h.264 is an excellent and widely used delivery codec, both for uploading to video sharing sites such as youtube and as downloadable files.

avi is a wrapper which can contain a variety of codecs, including h.264.

A 40 minute film is going to result in a large file – like several gigs – unless you step it way down. The image quality will suffer, however.

I would suggest vimeo link from your site. The reason is there are sites that allow you to plug in vimeo or youtube address and download the file in different formats. However I am sure quality will suffer somewhat. You are going to kill your internet host offering up 40 min movie in full HD, depending on how widely known your movie and or site is.

    Just my 2 cents.

Thank you, I am looking into Vimeo.

it seems Vimeo only allows SD downloads but hey, i’ll take it.
