    Hi Guys
I’m wanting to create a fade-up for the first shot of a short film.
Motion’s fade behaviour changes the opacity of the entire image. I would like to fade up the highlights first. And have not been able to find information on how to do this. It would be great if someone could point in the direction of a relevant tutorial.
    Thanks for your help!

The project was shot on 16mm. I’m using FCP 7 to edit with proxies files.

    Hi There,

There is a good tutorial made by Arron: I think you can use this technique to produce what you want. It is an After Effects tutorial however, it is done by using levels or curves. So you should be able to replicate this in Apple Motion with ease. Just so you know there are no Curves in Apple Motion, so use Levels.

Thanks Zac! I found Arron’s tutorial very easy to apply to Motion. Thank you for the tip about Levels

It is my pleasure. Remember most of the techniques from after effects can be easily applied to apple motion.
