  • Create object without Caps ?

Posted by Chris Holland on August 29, 2008 at 1:13 am

Is there a way to not create caps when you turn something into an object. For example:

I import and .ai spline. I use extrude nurbs to give it depth. I make it an object. When I do this it gives me caps on both sides. I can delete the caps and use close Polygon hole to make it a polygon.

My question is is there a way to skip this step and have those caps be polygons right away ?

I hope this question makes sense. Thanks.

the caps are polygons when you make the Extrude editable (or do a Current State to Object). Just select the caps and the main body and Functions/Connect, this makes a new object with all the bits you connected (you can keep the old one or toss it) then do a Functions/Optimize.
