    Here’s a fun one.

The lab that’s doing the DI for a movie I’m editing want the edl’s generated from the 23.98 timeline to reference the original lab reel number and not the telecined tape number.

I can spit out all the film neg cut lists from the cinema tools database but can’t find a way for FCP to trace back to the lab reels via the flex files.

Any one find a way for FCP to do this short of inching edit by edit through the timeline, visually reading the burn-in lab reel & keycode and then manually typing the lab reel into the edl where the tape number is?

    Thanks

    Daryl,

Simply open the EDLs up in Apple TextEdit app. (not something like WS Word which inserts all kinds of formatting crap) and use the “find & replace all” function to replace every occurrance of a tape number with the appropriate lab reel number.

Yeah I wish it were that simple. There are several lab reels on each tape.

I think I’m stuck with ‘surfing’ the edl one event at a time.

    Thanks.
