I am crashing about every 15 minutes while using a lot of stills, in a large complex doc project.

Usually it happens while I am simply trying to view them in the browser.

Some of the stills are pretty big (20 to 50 megs), mostly all TIFFs, some JPEGs… a hodgepodge.

However, i am also on a new maxed out MacPro cylinder.

    Anyone else have this happen?

I don’t know if this still applies but FCP7 didn’t work so well with large jpegs or tiffs. It was better with png’s.
I’ve been throwing together tome time-lapse time lines in X with hundreds to thousands of 5 -7 mb jpg stills and it really has been painless, I have to say.
I’m working on either a Mac mini with 16 gigs of ram or an iMac with the same amount of ram.

I did a slide show with 900 pics of 24Megs each and everything came to a crawl. My solution was simply to scale the pics to the required resolution, then no further problems. Hope that helps.
