    Mac Pro 8core running Leopard, 6GB ram (4 x 1gb, 4 x 512mb) upgrading to 8 soon (8 x 1gb)
sequence is Prores 1080, project came from out of house, but even copying sequence and pasting into new project doesn’t help

rendering is forced to Prores….it just locks up, whole render, partial render….

move the drives and project to other system (running tiger) and it renders fine…

1 thing I havent tried was to put render folder in spotlight privacy, so i’m going to do that now, but any other ideas would be great!

well, I tried everything, double checked slot config, added 2 more gigs of RAM (we are bumping it up to 8 as soon as they come in, but we had 2GB lying around), defragged drives…nothing worked…then it hit me…FCP Rescue!

trashed the settings, and ‘oila…it rendered the whole 2 hour show

I can’t believe I didn’t think of that before…but that solved it…saves me from rebuilding the whole system!
