Hey guys, first of all… thank you for the help.

I use iStat Menus 3 to monitor CPU, RAM, etc on my Mac Pro. (The best $16 bucks you’ll spend this year)

    https://bjango.com/apps/istatmenus/

In After Effects, C4D, media Encoder an Episode, I can see that when I export or render, those applications place a heavy load on my processors and RAM. To me, that says that its utilizing my resources to hurry up and render me some sweet ass video.

In FCP or Compressor on the other hand, it looks like its barely tapping my computer’s resources. 30% of CPU and only 500 mb of RAM. ???

This is a fresh install of 10.6.3 with a fresh install of the latest Final Cut Studio (3??). It has 2 x 3ghz Quad-Core Intel processors with 11 GB RAM.

Any thoughts on how to get Final Cut Studio ? Thanks guys!

That is just the way it is right now, you will see a huge improvement on the next release (most likely). and nobody knows when that is coming out.

Is this because FCP Studio is not 64-bit?

CS4 isn’t 64-bit and it utilizes everything I have to race through renders.

    I’m confused…
