  • CoverFlux PlugIn not working in FC or Motion

Posted by Roberto Zuluaga on November 4, 2010 at 3:40 am

    Hi,
I am a beginner with FinalCut and I just installed CoverFlux plugin. I am trying to create a slides show using CoverFlux but the “Choose” button to select the images I want to add to the project does not allow me to select the images. All images are grayed out on any directory I have tried.
I followed the online tutorial and I am seeing that when the choose button is used then you can select any image.
    I am using FC7 and Motion4 on SnowLeopard 10.6.4 – QuadCore i7.

    Thanks in advanced, Roberto

    Roberto,

Have you downloaded the latest version of FxFactory? You need to have 2.5.2 installed.
    https://www.noiseindustries.com/fxfactory/download/

Also can you load with other desktop images other than the default? If so it might be a permission issue.

For everybody else out there, we are launching the FREE CoverFlux2 plugin today. Please check out the video and the website, we are very proud of all the new features and a lot of time and effort has gone into the update.

but remember this is completely FREE!!!

    Thanks for feedback.

Yes, I have installed FxFactory 2.5.2.

Your suggestion about CoverFlux2 made me think that the version I downloaded yesterday night would not be the 2.0 version, even though I saw that version on your site yesterday night so I checked version via FxFactory and I found that the CoverFlux version I downloaded was 1.0.3 so I downloaded v2 and voila it worked immediately!

Thanks again for your good support!

I checked version and it was 1.0.3. I just downloaded version 2 and VOILA it works fine now.

    BTW .. awesome plug-in!

    Thanks again, Roberto

    Roberto,

I think you must have just caught us in the 1 to 2 upgrade phase. I’m very glad everything works fine now and enjoy the plugin.

    OT little bit…

Peter, what encoding settings did you use for your demo on your website?

In my browser, it played smoothly as 720p (do you decide on at what resolution it is going to play, or it detects my bandwidth and then plays accordingly?)

I’m having trouble in playing my You Tube videos in HD.

I am in Australia, which is MUCH slower internet than what people are having in UK and USA
and I’m aware of the fact that You Tube re-encodes my 25 fps to NTSC 30 fps,
but still is it a data rate setting on top of that (I’m using 6000 and 5000 on Vimeo).

But, if I can play your video nicely, that means it’s not the bandwidth it must be your/my encoding settings?

Can you please shed some light on this for me, I’ve been running in circles for some time now.

Here is my You Tube link:

    and here my Vimeo link:

    Thanks

    Mio,

If you contact me offline, I’ll share my settings. I don’t want the competition knowing all my hard researched YouTube tinkering 🙂

    Hi,

I just downloaded all the latest software for CoverFlux2 but I can not seem to get it into Final Cut Pro. It does not appear in the generators tab or anywhere else.

Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for this free plugin which seems to be very good. But! I’ve got some issues with it.
I’m using FCPX (10.0.8) and the lattest version of fxFactory.
Whatever the preset I use, the render is clean when running inside the project itself, but when I export the project into master file (720p, 24fps), the render of coverflux becomes something else that has nothing more to do with what I saw in FCPX. The video below will speak by itself.

Thanks a lot for your help

    Best regards

    JR
