    Greetings…!..

I am working on a film in which several of the P2 card backups are corrupt… i.e, after the shoot when importing into FCP, the cards failed to read.

I purchased P2 log pro and used the Repair wizard to repair each clip. The repair processed appeared to work becuase when I reopened these new files, the video and audio played within P2 Log via its clip viewer. Unfortunately, when I try to import this new card into FCP, the program crashes… this crash occurs on both the newest update (5.1.4) and an older version (5.1.0).

When I try to export the file from within P2 Log as an FCP XML, the render time corresponds to the length of the quicktime, however the resulting file is always an 8K corrupt quicktime file. This is very odd considering the file played fine within P2 Log.

Any advice on making this useable files? Thanks for the help!

Wow… sounds really messed up. Sorry to hear it.

The 8k sounds familiar – because I had that issue when trying to import P2 in FCP… ends up my clip names were longer than the 31 characters allowed. The clips seemed to process in the righ amount of time, but then when I looked at the names of the imported files, there were “#######” at the end of the name, and the clip was only 8k.

Doesn’t sound like the same issues you have, but it sounded a little familiar, so I thought I’d toss it out to see if it might possibly help.

    Good luck with it all…
