Correct presets for animation on tv
Hello!
I am creating an animation video in after effects (cs5).
Now I’m wondering what the correct presets are, for tv.
At the moment I use:HDV/HDTV 720
so 1280 x 720 pxThis may be a silly question 🙂
If this would be shown on tv, would the quality be good enough?Thanks a lot!

That choice will work fine, it’s what use everyday(cept I change the frame rate)
One question are you just creating the animation or doing the entire post work? Cause if someone else is going to composite your animation into there work, then save yourself and the editor grief by just coordinating now. Nothing worse than creating an animation and having it not look 100% because it’s being used in a comp that has to scale it/change frame rates….

I like John’s advice a thread or two down to work in 1920×1080 and scale down to 1280×720 if necessary.

Thanks a lot for the answer.
I would just render the animation myself, into a .mov I guess?
Rendering in H264.. quicktime.
The animation would not be used in another movie.Thanks again 🙂
