    Maybe i am being a dumb ass, but i have a 3d bevel effect on a text layer in illustrator CS2 and i can’t find a way to copy this effect onto other text layers …. Any ideas

    Hi Chris,
    Select the effect (in the layer palette open the layer triangle, then select the “effect”)
    and while holding the OPTION key click and drag the little (target) circle to the right
    and drag it to the new layer. This will apply the effect to the object on the new layer.

    You can also use the eyedropper tool to copy or apply effects. Just make sure you doubleclick the tool first and configure it properly.

    For example you will want appearance checked, and character attributes either checked or not checekd if you do not want to pick up the typefont specs.
