I created a project in Vegas Pro TRIAL a while back and now have moved to Vegas Studio. I can’t seem to timeline copy from Vegas Pro 10 TRIAL to Vegas Studio 9.

When I paste in VS9 it blinks and nothing happens. I was under the impression this would work.

Can anybody provide insight or another process to make this work?

    Thank you,
    Ross

There was a bug in Vegas Pro 10 that affected copying events between projects. You may be seeing that. Normally this would work. You also have to keep both projects open at the same time. I don’t know if you can update the trial to the latest 10c and see if that works. Otherwise you are out of luck.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. I do have it updated to 10C. They are both open.

I will try to find an old version of Pro or something.

    I appreciate it!

An older version will not do you any good as you cannot open a Vegas 10 project in Vegas 9, 8, 7, 6, etc. However, you can open a Vegas 6 project in Vegas 7, 8, 9, 10, etc.

Hopefully you won’t have to wait until the next version of Vegas comes out to try again 🙁

I was in the same situation where I developed a pro trial project and had no way of converting or copying it to a platinum edition. I studied the file formats and saw that there were similarities, so this will probably only work for the more basic projects without any special pro features.

Please refer to my hack solution over at https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=737460

    Hi Oscar,

Your hack worked great! I really appreciate it. It saved me a LOT of time.

    Thanks,
    Ross
