    Hi,

When selecting some layers in a composition, for then to copy and paste it in another composition – the layers gets pasted in different orders.
Ex; when selecting a bunch of layers having three text layers on top, when pasting them into the new composition these three textlayers ends up in the middle with other layers both over and under.

    What is wrong?

Layers are pasted in the order they are selected.

    i.e. Select layer 1, 2, 3, 4, paste 1,2,3,4. Select 4,3,2,1, paste 4,3,2,1.

As Brian says, from After Effects Help:

“When you copy (or cut) and paste layers, the layers are pasted so that they appear from top to bottom in the Timeline panel in the same order in which they were selected before the copy (or cut) operation. You can Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) layers to select them in any arbitrary order, cut them, and then immediately paste them to reorder the layers in the order in which they were selected.”
