Cool Editing Tip: Fast Color Color Adjustment – Making Your Footage Pop (Preset)
Hi everyone,
Just a quick note. As I’ve been editing footage now for about a year, using Premiere CS6, I’ve gained a ton of tips from this forum, so I wanted to share one of my favorite workflow tips. Takes too seconds, saves me hours of time.
1.) Go into your “Video Effects”, select “Brightness & Contrast”, drag to your footage clip, and bump the brightness and the contrast UP 10%, this gives your footage a quick and dirty pop, and you can adjust as necessary later, this is just to set up the preset.
2.) Now, add the “Fast Color Corrector” and bump the Saturation UP 10%.
After, you add the “Brightness and Contrast”, and then the “Fast Color Corrector”, SHIFT-COMMAND, to select both presets, the right-click, hit “Save Preset” and I name this preset “Bright/Contrast/Sat 10% Pop”.
Once you save this, you can then literally drag it to any footage quickly and give it a bit of a ‘pop’, if you have very limited time to edit and color correct. (Depending on how dark your footage is, you can bump up the “Brightness and Contrast” even more, and use combinations of 20%/15% or 30%/20%, but do not go too crazy with the “Brightness and Contrast” setting.
This quickly made personal preset this preset “Bright/Contrast/Sat 10% Pop”, has saved me hours and gives the footage a nice clean and more colorful look with very little effort.
