    Hello,

I was wondering what is the proper process to upconvert/deinterlace standard SD footage to HD footage? I guess I’m not sure on the proper way of doing this. There are several videos I need to convert from the older format to a newer one that can be viewed on modern devices.

I was searching and came across something called UpRez by BorisFX but I cannot seem to find that anymore.

    Thanks.

I finally found this plugin but it is part of Boris FX Continuum Image Restoration Unit but they want $199 for this package. I really wish I could just purchase the UpRez unit by itself.

I need to know if anyone has tried any other program that works well converting SD to HD?

    Thanks.

    Hi Francois,

I wouldn’t upsize SD to FHD, rather go for 1280×720 and let modern flat screen TV do the upsizing to FHD during playback, as they are very good at that.

A program add-on called Happy Otter Scrips found at tools4vegas, may be the best bet. It is current a free beta program that I think will work in Vegas Pro 12 (probably not VP9). Here is the link to download Happy Otter Scripts

Here is a thread discussing using Happy Otter Scripts to upsize and deinterlace. It is long and the OP is having problems, but others helping him have had success.
