  • Converting MXF files from AVID for use in FCP?!

Posted by Sean Kapleton on August 31, 2009 at 2:59 pm

So i posted last week about this but got no answers…hopefully this one will get some responses.

I did a search in this forum and read a few threads but I am still a little confused / concerned about this workflow.

    SO

I am receiving footage from two Iconix lip stick cams consisting of two different file forms. One cam has MXF files and one has quicktime files.

I want to import these clips into AVID in order to export back out as FCP compatible quicktimes (uncompressed 8 or 10 bit?)

i have included screen grabs of the Quicktime format the other clips are in. the file scturtcure of the mxf clips, and the issues i am experiencing when i try to import into Avid.

The error i get is: ‘Exception MXF Import: XDCAM – unrecognized resolution”

    thank you

    sean
