Converting Mono audio to dual Final Cut X 10.4
Hi everyone
I’m trying to convert some audio that was recorded with a lapel mic and therefore comes through in mono (just one speaker).
I have this clip synced via multicam but can’t seem to turn it from mono to dual.
Any tips / advice / guidance would be really appreciated!

Mono to dual mono you mean? You’d need two channels for dual mono, but you have one channel, right?

I think what you actually have is audio that FCP X is interpreting as “Stereo” where you have lavalier in one channel and maybe silence in the other. So you need to go to the Audio inspector and change it from “stereo” to “dual mono”

I’m not really sure what the issue was, but I found that I couldn’t find that option to click on to dual.
I discovered that if you double click the multicam clip in the time line and then click on the corresponding sound file, then go to inspector you can change it to the dual functionality as described by Brett.
