Converting HDV to DV
I have a project shot with a Z1 and edited in HDV, I normally compress it and turn it into standard DVD, however the client asked me to give him a DV tape. I connected the Z1 back to the firewire, I think I made all the necessary settings and the computer recognizes the firewire, but all I’m getting out of the Z1 is audio and a still frame image of where the program start in the the timeline. Any suggestion on how to do it right or what I’m doing wrong?

TG- Go out HDV to your Z-1 then i-link downconvert to DV back into FCP for your DV copy. Unless you have an Aja or BM card you are not going to be able to downcovert from FCP.
