I have some HD .avi files that are made with the HDYC codec on a PC. Does anyone know how I can open/convert these on my Mac? I have tried installing the Black Magic codec as well as the Sheer Video codec but neither seems to do anything. QT doesn’t whine for a codec any more if I open it in the movie player, but I still don’t get to view the video. And FCP only shows a white screen on playback.

Being a novice to all this, is there something obvious that I am missing?

Running FCP 5.1, iMac 3 GHz, 4GB RAM.

    Thanks!
