    Hello all,

I saw that there was a similar thread already in the forum so please forgive… I just started work on my masters in film and am taking digital editing (primarily FCP). I’m new to editing so I’m already behind the 8 ball just a week into class.

I went out and bought a beautiful new macbook pro and FCP 7. The problem is all the computers in the lab where I take my class are FCP 6. It’s imperative that I be able to work on my projects at home and in the lab. Any advice?

In FCP 7 export an XML of your timeline. This will open in FCP 6.

    Hi Walter

In FCP 6.0.4. if I were to export an XML of the timeline will it open in FCP 5.0.4? If so, does it mean my entire project with the rushes will show up on the FCP 5.0.4? I am an FCP novice. Tks.
