converting films 24fps to a DVD disk
Hi,
I have scanned film footage (24fps) and the client wants a DVD disk.
I’m doing some fx’s to the footage in AE and then
I’m going to be using DVD studio pro to make the disk.
They want the footage to look great on the DVD (of course).
Do I have to convert 24fps to 29.97, add a pulldown and fields
when I render it out in AE?
Or do I just leave it in the 24fps?
I’ll be using the mpeg2 compression.

this is probably a bit more of a dvdsp thing, but i would leave everything 24p… render out of ae as lossless, use compressor for the mpeg2 compression (make sure you’re setting it for progressive). take that into dvdsp for burning (again, make sure you are setup for progressive).

using the progressive setting in compressor and dvdsp is a great help,
it make sense.
