    Hello,

I have tried downloading several Youtube video file converters and I’ve had no success. I’ve also tried playing a little of the youtube video clip then selecting “Activity” under the Window menu option and selecting the largest file and downloading it to the “downloads” folder in my MAC.

Nothing is working for me. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Rachel

I use “ClipGrab” to download from YouTube, then you can use MPGStreamclip or QT to convert that to something editable in FC.
I’ll recommend you to transcode to 8b Uncompressed to keep the most quality.
Keep the same size and time-base.

We’ve used the DownloadHelper add-on in Firefox for grabbing from YouTube. It’s free and gets the job done.

clipconverter.cc is what I use. Then for formats it doesn’t have the ability to output, I cross-convert using MPEG Streamclip.
