Hi, i started with footage from an iphone 4 which was in 1280×720. So i transcoded the clips in Compressor to prores 422 (LT) with the exact same frame rate and frame size (1280×720). Everything’s fine.
But now i want to import footage from a point and shoot camera that is in 640×480 size. I used the same droplet as my iphone footage to convert the point and shoot shots to prores 422 LT as well. However, the new footage didn’t convert to 1280×720. Rather, it remained at 640×480, and for this reason when I drop the new clips into the timeline they require rendering since it’s a 1280×720 timeline. How can I convert the frame rate of the point and shoot camera footage from 640×480 so it can be used alongside the iphone HD footage in the same timeline?

Dave, the frame RATE is totally fine, most of the footage is 29.97 so i am converting everything to conform to that frame rate. No problems there.
The problem is with the frame SIZE of the new footage I have which is in 640×480. (Remember, most of my other footage is from an iphone4 at 1280×720 so this new footage needs to conform to that frame rate). I don’t mind if the new video footage gets stretched. However, I don’t know how to convert the frame size from 640×480 to 1280×720. If i don’t convert it, then I will have to render it every time and that is too much of a pain. So I want to convert it. However, when I transcode to prores422 LT there is nowhere in the edit box where i can see that i am able to change the frame size. Everything else can be converted but for some reason i can’t find out what to select in Compressor to change the fame size. Please let me know thanks.

IN COMPRESSOR, you need to go to the GEOMETRY TAB in the Inspector and change it to the size you want. Might also need to do it in another section…second tab from the left in the inspector, click on VIDEO SETTINGS…and adjust the size in there too.
