    Hello All

First of all I’ll appreciate those who take the time to reed this post.

We are cutting a documentary that initially was intend to be broadcast and finish at 1080i but now my client has some founding and try to do a theatrical release.

All footage was shoot on P2 720p60 (59.94) we edit, color mixed and finish with same specs, and then using a Kona3 card upress and convert to a final HDCam SR at 1080i 29.97, All seams fine until there

The problem now is that to do a film printout Technicolor is requesting a 23.98 master, I try almost all setups for inputs / outputs of my Kona cards (3 & Lhi) with no luck to convert.

Im trying to export a uncompress 720p60 quicktime and either send it to compressor or to FCP with a 29.98 setup.

Other option is to rent a Teranex and let it do a hardware conversion.

Honestly this is my first experience converting 720p(59.94 to a 23.98 workflow, in the past we work on true 24p so no hassle.

I’m kind of lost in this so any direction is very welcome, any reference info or any place I can figure it out.

    Thanks again.

    JC

    Hi Juan Carlos,
The Kona is very good for up/downscaling in RT, but not for Standard Conversion (time-base).
[Juan Carlos Aguirre] “Other option is to rent a Teranex and let it do a hardware conversion.

You may try Compressor (Frame Control ON, Retiming BETTER), but If you can afford the Teranex, don’t look for any other solution. I’ve never used my self but there is a general agreement about that is the best solution with difference.
    Cheers,

Technicolor probably has either a Teranex or an Alchemist. Ask them how much extra it would cost for them to do it. I suspect it would be less than you renting a Teranex. Plus, they already know how it works.
