  • Convert Velocity DVA files to Use In Vegas

Posted by Duane Weed on March 5, 2010 at 4:41 pm

I have been a long time user of Velocity. So I have alot of past projects that I am updating and am now using Vegas 8.

What is the best/easiest/quickest way to convert these files for use in Vegas.

    Thank you

It’s been a VERY long time since I’ve had to do this but, as I recall, I used the virtual AVI tool to do this as Velocity doesn’t render an AVI file too well at all.
You could also try using Reality to make an AVI and see what Vegas thinks of it.

Have not really used Reality much, what virtual AVI tool would you or others recommend? Thanks

Duane, I’m referring to the Virtual AVI tool that’s on the DPS (now Harris) site.
If you were a member of the dpsEdits users group on Yahoo, it’s in the files section at https://groups.yahoo.com/group/DPSedits/files/.
Virtual AVI used the DPS Avi Codec.
It’s a reference codec that uses the DPS Software Codec to generate AVI files that can be used by any program that can accept AVI’s.
Let me know if you weren’t a member and I’ll see what I can do about getting the files to you.

Mike, I am not a member. If you can get me the files that would be wonderful. Thank you for your help.
