Convert MTS files to quicktime MOV in FCP 6?

If anyone can tell me if this is even possible…I am using fcp 6…(I know) and on macosx 10.5…yeah, I know…

I have the second half of a wedding that I am trying to convert to mov files and I’m not quite sure if this is possible.

I even purchased online software (digging my own grave at this point). Until I can buy a new computer this is how I roll.

ANyone out there have an answer? The video was shot on a canon dslr….the only thing I have are the mts files on a hard drive….there was another folder with CPI files.

I actually edited the first half of the wedding because they were NINJA files. The guy that shot the wedding sold the camera. The cards are gone, I don’t know why the whole wedding was not converted…

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Lori

Don’t be ashamed of your setup, we all work with what we have. Most people use Clipwrap to convert AVCHD to ProRes but I’m not sure if the current version works on PPC. You can download a trial version here.

ClipWrap is worth every penny. I use it to re-wrap HDV files captured on a PC. Works great!

I really appreciate the feedback! Thank you. I tried Emicsoft mts to mov converter and it does not work, and every link to get in touch with them is a dead end….so I am now fighting with the company that pulled the money out of my checking account.

Maybe I’ll try clipwrap….if that doesn’t work there will be a free computer on the street. Thanks guys!

Hmmm… you might want to cancel your credit card or get a new number issued for your checking account. I just tried going to the Emicsoft web site and my Web of Trust browser plus-in flagged it as a malicious web site and blocked it. If you are not using WOT I highly recommend that you download this free plug-in for your browser.
