Convert light to keyframe?
Posted by Matthew Minamyer on July 7, 2011 at 1:05 amHas anyone heard of a way to create key-frames based on light value of footage. I have footage that strobes and I want to make a title that strobes as well.

July 7, 2011 at 1:18 amYou could use sampleImage() in an expression.
See Dan Ebberts’s classic Obscuration Using sampleImage() example [link] for some inspiration.

July 7, 2011 at 1:19 amYou can achieve this using the sampleimage expression. I’m no expressions expert but there are a few on this site. Just do a search for sampleimage and you’ll hopefully find something useful.
It basically returns the RGB values of any point you specify. You can then link whatever value you like (position, rotation, amount of blur, brightness of lens flare – whatever) to this value.
Hope that helps (a bit!)
