  • Convert files only used in timeline?

Sometimes I just don’t have time to convert all my DSLR footage before editing in FCP. However it runs enough for me to subclip and organize my video. But it lags too much to be able to play smooth for perfecting the timing and any color correction.

Is there a way that I can somehow convert only the files that are in my sequence? Maybe showing them in finder and all the files I used are selected. Or something else? What I’d like to do is find a way to quickly be able to grab all the files I used, convert them in MPEGStreamclip, then reconnect those files in FCP.

That is what the Media Manager is for.
    Select the “transcode” option.

That’s the price you pay to use DSLR footage.

That was a completely pointless and stupid comment, belittling pretentiously a technology used by half the audiovisual planet now.
