convert 4:3 letterbox DV to 16:9 anamorphic
i have aproximately 24 hours of DVCam that was recorded 4:3 letterbox (downconverted from HDCam), my problem is the client wants 16:9 anamorphic DVD’s. what would be the best way to do this keeping in mind that i will eventually want to export to tape so that i can encode these tapes on our Spruce encoder. my initial thoughts are to just capture the tapes in as DV 4:3 and then do some sort of cropping/scaling/aspect ratio manipulation, and then of course render, and finally output to tape. if anyone has done anything like this before, it would be very helpful to know how you went abouts doing it, thanks in advance!

Create a 16:9 Anamorphic sequence, drop your Letterbox footage in there and scale it up by 33%.
Export as a 16:9 Anamorphic sequence.
You will loose some resolution but you’ll have to live with that.Cheers,
