I am switching from Media 100 to Final Cut Pro. I am upgrading to a new Mac Pro. Right now I am operating on OS9 so it will be a big switch. My question is what is the best controller to get video from my DSR-80 deck into the Mac Pro. What kind of converter cable will I need to import the video?

    Thank you for your help.

You need a Keyspan adapter…. https://www.keyspan.com/products/usa28xg/homepage.spml Then you’ll want a Mac Serial Cable, if you don’t already have one. round at one end, 9 pin on the other… Promax.com sells them I’m sure.

Might want to look into a capture card like a Kona LH or 3 if you want to do more than DV. They supply the serial port on the card too for your DSR.
