    Hi,

I have more compositions, all of them use a precomp with solid layer and some evolving color effects on it. What I need is to have the effect to progress in each following composition. Now the effect just starts from beginning with every composition.
I tried to set up effect controls on main composition and automate there, but the result is same.
Is there any simple solution to this? Thank you.

Make your source precomp longer and then just offset the time of its layer in each of the comps that use it.

    Hi,

this is what I try to avoid. I know I can manually move the precomp in each separate composition som it would match but everytime I change the length of the compositions, I would need to adjust the whole thing again.

Just a quick idea – could I use some expression that sets the start of the precomp to the actual time on the main composition? This way I would not need to manually adjust it.
